According to this aim, the group of “ Artes Visuais” from this school created a very colourful Christmas Tree placed in the school main entrance. Its decoration is totally different from the traditional Christmas trees. It has hung a lot of jars made from glass filled with dozens of plastic covers, from different colours. These covers, collected by students, help to purchase a wheel chair to a student from this school, a very noble social cause.
Avaliação/impacto
This piece of Art tries, through a visual metaphor, to call our attention to our behaviour and attitudes towards consume habits, giving a message of less material goods.
Moreover, these jars symbolize the importance of recycling and reusing things as a way of saving material resources as we all want a cleaner and better planet to live in. Thus, the different colours of the covers represent the different human races.
All human beings have the right to breathe fresh air and to drink clear water. This is a common cause so we all must act now in order to save our world.
We must be grateful to our students and teachers who gave us their Precious time in this school activity.
